Three Principles of The Atonment

Three principles of the Atonement that will increase your faith in Jesus Christ:
1. All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
2. There is power in the Atonement to enable us to overcome the natural man or women and become true disciples of Jesus Christ.
3. The Atonement is the greatest evidence we have of the Father's love for His children.

Ways to Build a Strong Testimony

President Thomas S. Monson shared 3 ways to build a strong testimony and here they are:
1. Prayer. When we remember that each of us is literally a spirit son or daughter of God, we will not find it difficult to approach him in prayer. He knows us; He loves us; He wants what is best for us.
2. Scriptures. Spending time each day in scripture study will strengthen our foundations of faith and our testimonies of truth.
3. Service. There are others who need your help. In the Book of Mormon we read of noble King Benjamin. He declared: "When ye are in the device of your fellow being ye are only in the service of your God." Mosiah 2:17
We can fortify our foundations of faith, our testimonies of truth, so that we will not falter, we will not fail.
This information is from President Monson's talk called, "Three Ways to Build a Strong Testimony," I did not write any of this myself.

How to Receive God's Word

Nephi promised that "whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would hold fast unto it, . . . would never perish; neither could the temptations . . . of the adversary overpower them . . . , to lead them away to destruction" (1 Nephi 15:24) The word of God has three elements that together form an immovable rod:
1. The Scriptures-
"Are you and I daily reading, studying and searching the scriptures in a way that enables us to hold fast to the rod of iron?" David A. Bednar
2. Personal revelation and inspiration that comes to us through the Holy Ghost-
"If you hold to the rod, you can feel your way forward with the gift of the Holy Ghost. . . Grasp the iron rod, and do not let go. Through the power of the Holy Ghost, you can feel your way through life." President Boyd K. Packer
3. The words of the living prophets-
We must hold fast to the word of God as delivered by the living prophets. We must increase our attentiveness to what the living prophets are teaching, accelerate our response to what we are learning, and deepen our understanding of what it means to hold fast to their words.
General conference is coming up and we have the opportunity to listen to the messages  given by our living prophets. General conference is a time to pause from what we are doing to listen to the Lord's servants and to prayerfully set our courses for the months ahead.
Consider these questions:
Have I clearly marked general conference on my calender so that I will be able to listen to eace of the sessions available to me?
How will I prepare myself during this month so that I will be spiritually ready to receive the messages?
After conference ask your self these:
What specific impressions came to me during conference?
What necessary changes will I make in my life?
The iron rod is the word of God. The scriptures, the words of the living prophets, and the gift of the Holy Ghost are powerful in their ability to keep us safe. Hold fast to the words of the prophets. Hold fast to the iron rod!
